Back 2 Basics Pilates and Physiotherapy was started as an opportunity to provide Pilates and Physiotherapy services with a focus on the basic fundamentals of core stability and anatomy.  I want my clients to learn how to correct their posture and stabilize the spine to both prevent and recover from injury.  Core stabilization is not only important to back injuries it also plays a vital role in providing a stable foundation for all other movements of the body.  

I am an experienced physiotherapist with over 16 years in private practice treating a variety of musculoskeletal injuries.  In addition I have worked with triathlon/running clubs and various sporting teams over the years, treating a variety of acute and overuse sporting injuries.  My treatments combine a manual hands on approach with education and exercises.  

My interest in Pilates has grown in the past 6 years and I have seen the benefits both professionally and personally.  Since having a child I became more aware of the physical challenges women experience both during and after pregnancy.  Teaching Pilates during and post pregnancy helped me to avoid many of the complaints my female clients suffer from.  Pilates is beneficial for everyone, from the elite athlete to the retired population as it provides a solid foundation to all movements.

Come participate in mat classes with a certified Physiotherapist.  Small group classes allow the exercises to be catered to the individuals skill level and for correction of technique.  Mat classes allow more focus on the technique and maximize activation of the core muscles.

Hands on Manual Therapy with an experienced Physiotherapist.  Evidence based treatments and exercises.  Dry needling available.
